I use this app weekly for teaching lessons and teaching myself… One thing I wish was that the transport controls were the same as they are for iTunes… Like, the arrow keys can go to the start of a song, etc… A few other things don’t seem intuitive either.
This thing is great for musicians especially those who do lots of transcription. My only complaint is that the window is big and bulky and when i am working with notation programs it covers the score while I am swtiching back and forth. It would be awesome to see a a mini player option in the view window or at least have the ability to reduce the window down to mini player size.
Some great features to this app. The quality of the sound when slowed down is surprisingly good. The main thing holding me back from a 5 - is the tendency for the app to proceed to the next song in my iTunes library rather than stopping. Usually this is a song I do not want in AnyTune - it starts anyway. Would love to see this integrated with Spotify. That would earn it a “6”!
It does exactly what it says it does, perfectly. Which is amazing. Man, I wish i would have had this tool a few decades ago. Thank you!
I’m learning to play a musical instrument, and my teacher has provided me with recordings of some of the tunes. Being able to slow them down to different speeds and play along is great.
Anytune is a great way to systimatically learn music by ear. You can loop phrases to learn them, play them from slow to fast, resulting in great phrasing and accuracy. Before working with this application, my piano students who learned songs by ear in addition to by reading notation have had a better feeling for the music, more sensitive and expressive phrasing, and a better rhythmic flow. This has translated into their improvisations and compositions as more heart-felt expressions. Thus, I decided to encourage all of my students to learn songs by ear as well as by notation. For students who played correctly but have consistently had difficulty internalizing the music, this app has allowed them to develep their ear and feel for the music very rapidly. I have even had students play along with this app. after they learned the song through reading notation. Their phrasing improved very rapidly. I then asked them to improvise, and they had better phrasing with their improvisations as well. It is as if they included new sections of their brain - more senses and heart - into their playing. I hope you find Anytune as useful and fun as my students and I have. Blessings on your musical journey.
I’ve use other apps like this - nothing compares. Just hope my fee paid for lifetime…
I picked up my old alto saxophone when I retired after 40 years of teaching science in public high schools. It’s been a real joy to be able to take practically any tune and learn to play it with Anytune by slowing it down and then increasing the tempo as I improve. This software is genius for learning or re-learning a musical instrument.
It’s a great asset but, after the last update with “El Capitan OS” in my Mac Pro, the app does not appear in the Launchpad and I have to go to the App Store or to the Update Section to be able to open and use the app, everytime! Not confortable! After I bought it, and before the OS upgrade, the app was always located in the Launchpad with all the other apps.
This has become a key tool for me in learning new tunes and techniques.
Perfect app for learning any song in any key for any instrument. No problems following El Capitan installation.
I wish I could be the only one to get this so I could blow everyone else away. Kind of a secret weapon.
i resisted buying th mac app even after loving the ipad app for quite some time (just a $ thing). Once I did, I use it to change key of worship music I am trying to learn and it works great.
I love this ap. Also, combined with a blueboard, handsoff operation is a snap!
such a great app. i saw one other person did the same thing where i bought it for my ipad and resisted the mac app. first song i grabbed from iTunes and i was happy that i did buy it for the mac. such a breeze and intuitive. not a thing i can think of that i would have them change.
Best learning program Ive found and I’ve used a lot. Easy to setup practice loops, change keys. Isolate areas I need to work on. Worth every penny if you’re trying to learn a batch of new songs quickly.
I’m preparing for a gig in 2 months. This program is amazing! I can change pitch (we’re older and need to bring things down a half of a step!), tempo to learn solos, and mark it into loops to hear things over and over that I am working on. Brilliant stuff!
Fantastic tool for learning & rehearsals. Works great & haven’t had any issues.
Been using for while now, was turned on to Anytune by a serious pro. I love that I can makes playlists and practice for gigs, also change key if band plays in different key than original. Makes learning easy. It also keeps getting better and better… working on syncing my various playlists in cloud between devices. It looks like that’s possible now. Thanks AnyTune!
